About Argentium Silver

Made with a touch of germanium, Argentium® Silver presents a bright-white color that is closer to fine silver than traditional sterling, yet is highly resistant to firescale and extremely slow to tarnish under most conditions. It welds flawlessly and is ideal for fusing techniques.

Argentium 935 tarnish resistant sterling silverAll Argentium is made from reclaimed silver and its sources are guaranteed by Argentium International Ltd. Our customers will appreciate the value and convenience of brighter-white sterling silver designs that resist tarnishing and keep on shining. It was originally invented in Germany, but it took some British University help to bring it into production and is now becoming popular mostly in the USA.

While it costs us slightly more, we think keeping your pieces naturally shiny for longer makes it worthwhile. So all our silver pieces are now made from Argentium, even if we don’t call that out specifically.

In full it is properly called Argentium® 935 sterling silver as its purity is 935 – compared with normal sterling at 925.
